Krakow Film Festival: May 29-June 5
An increasingly prestigious event on the international movie scene, the Krakow Film Festival is now in its 56th year, and 2016 sees 83 screenings squeezed into seven days of frenetic activity in nine venues around the city. Dedicated to championing the European film industry, the festival concentrates on animation films, documentaries and short features, with prizes awarded in five categories, including the coveted Golden Horn for best documentary. There are press conferences after most screenings, Q&A sessions with directors and cast, workshops, open-air films, live music and talks with acclaimed moviemakers and stars.
